2021 - 4 IN CYCLONE UPDATE - 9 DEC 2021 - Two more versions of the housing ; 250mm and 300mm... for a better separation. You need to understood the way this cyclone work! If unit is forced to process a lot of dust/shaving in a small period of time... it will reduce the separation capabilities. On a particle, passing this unit, centrifugal and gravitational forces are dictating on how it will behave and the length of time required from entering the cyclone and exiting in to the collection container! Try to find the balance between time and volume! Additional, if wood shaving are very long... during the centrifugal separation process ... balls of shaving may form ... I never have this problem... however, try to find the limit of the maximum admissible length for a wood shaving! Ensure the inside faces of cyclone are smooth and clean of any print imperfections. Sand and clean all inside faces! You can add a coat of paint for better results. The IN connection is recommended to be straight and for at least 300mm! ... ... ... If you print this project, and you are happy with the final part, do not forget to buy me a roll of filament ! ... ... ... It is build on to the same platform as 4IN Cyclone - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3971669 ; ... however, since during my print of the "older" version, the front connection - inlet; thread was printed poorly, I decide, that in order to avoid this, a bolted connection is more appropriated! Since it is using more than 1kg of filament for each of the main parts, I strongly recommend using 2kg rolls - or ensure that the second filament roll you will use, is dried before! The fact that is new, and comes from the manufacturer bag, with a silica bag in it... will not avoid the moisture problem! I encounter this, on my last print!!!
