Customizable cassette lamp
Description
You choose: hanging lamp or nightstand / desk lamp base-shape: pentagon or hexagon (note: hanging lamp only hexagon) height: 3, 4 or 5 cassettes (note: MK3S: max height 3+1 = 4) between 4 lid patterns What do you need? a 3D printer with a decent bed-size (hexagon base (200mm x 229mm => PRUSA i3) and pentagon base (189mm x 181mm => Ender3)) about 350g filament for the hanging lamp: standard E27 lamp holder and a fitting light bulb like IKEA HEMMA and RYET-LED: https://www.ikea.com/de/de/p/hemma-lampenaufhaengung-weiss-10386577/ https://www.ikea.com/de/de/p/ryet-led-leuchtmittel-e27-470-lm-rund-opalweiss-20438707/ for the nightstand lamp: 1m LED-stripe with a power-supply and preferable with an off switch or dimmer (your choice if you want colored or white light). I used this all in one set from Amazon: https://www.amazon.de/GEYUEYA-Home-Selbstklebend-Lichtstreifen-Weihnachten/dp/B07ZFSMR3Q/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&dchild=1&keywords=onforu+led+dimmbar&qid=1598006124&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExVllIRUdNUlczRk1aJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwODY0Mzk4MUtETUFTTlFMWUpGSiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMTAxODk2MU5MSVpZRk1BM0wxJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== a bunch (5 (pentagon) or 6 Hexagon) x height 3-5 = 15-30) of your favorite music cassettes (if you glue it gently you can remove them later, without damaging) note: the more fully colored cassettes you choose the dark the lamp will be (I recommend to use at least one 50% or more transparent cassettes) Assembly: print one lid and one frame of your choice -> assembling can be a little tricky if you choose a lid with an extra cassette row -> if possible, use a lid without cassette row nightstand lamp only: wrap and glue the LED-stripe around the tower in the middle insert the cassettes into the frame -> the lowest row needs to be oriented in the normal way and the highest upside-down to fit perfectly -> the higher you get with inserting, the easier the sticks will bend to the outside and the cassettes start falling out: to prevent this, till the lid got glued, you can wrap a rubber band around the body to hold the sticks / cassettes in place put (epoxy) glue in the holes on the lid, not to much so it doesn't squish out and let it dry! hanging lamp: now you can attach the lampshade to the holder Now you are done! :-) Happy printing!
