Night Vapor Motor Mount (fix)
Description
Propeller mount (gear box) on Night Vapor. Fixes common break from head-on collision (see picture). To be clear: If your entire motor broke off, this is NOT a fix for that. Nor does it replace the entire gear box. What this does is the 3d printed part slips over the half-broken plastic motor mount (shaft portion broken off) and provides a new hole for the shaft of the gear/propeller. Holes for shaft bushings are undersized, you'll need to file to 2mm. File other surface as well, it's a tight fit over the motor. STEPS: Start by making sure it fits over the motor portion easily (such that you can remove it without breaking something) and then tackle getting the 2mm bushings pushed into the 3d printed part. NOTE: Distance between gears was optimized over a few iterations, but of course, may depend on your printer. Started with 7 mm between shafts, but found 6.875 worked a bit better. SUGGESTED: After some fit checks, I suggest you superglue the 3D print to the black motor mount. It'll fit tight at first, and appear like it'll never slip, HOWEVER, it likely will slip someday in a crash, which will end up damaging the white plastic gear (it'll get pushed into the motor).
