Honeycomb Lights
Description
### What is this thing? This crazy looking thing is a small version of a hexagonal Nanoleaf. It has 4 small ones connected together with paths for the LED strips and wires. I wanted to build a large wall light that was in the shape of an hexagon and in the middle I wanted smaller hexagons. The outside frame of the larger light is made of wood in the shape of a hexagon and then these 3d printed small ones are placed inside. ### Features This can be used with at least 2 different type of LED Lights. A Strip of 60 LEDs per meter can be used to go around the outside of each hexagon. The other option is to hot glue the individual pixels to the back of each hexagon. There are passages for wires and slots for the LED Strips to go into. You will notice there are a lot of different files that look similar. The difference is around the holes for the wires to the outside. If the outside of the of the design is covered up like mine is with a wood frame then you can just use holes everywhere file. But if you are going to make a design that is stand alone and do not want to see holes, there are other options you can pick from. ### LEDs and Control I would recommend that you use the 60 LEDs per meter or the pixels that are on little PCBs and connected by wires. In the end I ended up just using WLED for control but still want to create something custom for more interesting effects. ### Design I have not perfected my hexagonal light yet. I printed it in white first but then thought maybe black would be better. There are so many possibilities. Someone suggested black with tin foil in the back with no diffuser. If you make something I would love to see what you did with it. ### Printing There are no special settings needed to print. There is no need for support.
