Utility Blade Case

Utility Blade Case

Description

I keep utility blades in my skateboarding bag for applying grip tape and needed something to safely store the blades in. This is a storage case for utility blades with a hinged lid and snap closure. Designed for 20x 0.5mm thick blades, however the actual print will likely hold less. The case has a centered divider meant to separate new and used blades, if desired (10 blades each).
Hinge Test Print Model:
Included is a test print model for the print-in-place hinge. I recommend printing the test model first to insure that your printer is achieving adequate clearance. If you have trouble cleanly printing the hinge I recommend lowering the nozzle temp, reducing the flow rate, and reducing the print speed. STL Files: UtilityBladeCase_ASSY_1pc_Test.stl
Print-in-Place Model:
This is the intended print design as it requires no further assembly after printing. STL Files: UtilityBladeCase_ASSY_1pc.stl Fusion360 Files: UtilityBladeCase_Case.f3d UtilityBladeCase_Lid.f3d UtilityBladeCase_ASSY.f3z Recommendations/Settings: - 100% infill for hinge strength - Print hinge axis orthoginal to bed - Sparse supports to help with bridging
Split Assembly Model:
I've also included a split model design in case the print-in-place model is too problematic. The hinge can be assembled and glued post printing. STL Files: UtilityBladeCase_SplitModel_Case.stl UtilityBladeCase_SplitModel_Lid.stl UtilityBladeCase_SplitModel_Pin.stl Fusion360 Files: UtilityBladeCase_SplitModel_Case.f3d UtilityBladeCase_SplitModel_Lid.f3d UtilityBladeCase_SplitModel_Pin.f3d I hope you find this model helpful!
