RedCat 51 distance ring with field rotation indicator
Description
This is a distance ring (2,7mm thickness) for backfocus adjustment of a Williams Optics RedCat 51 telescope. The distance ring fits over the M48 thread on the back side of the telescope. As the built-in field rotator indicator of the RedCat 51 cannot easily be adjusted to the 0 position of the scale, I found it more convenient to have a freely adjustable indicator as part of the distance ring. RedCat 51 has a backfocus distance of 59,7mm, whereas a common backfocus for telescopes is 55mm. For RedCat 51 with a fully equipped optical train (CMOS Camera, Filter Wheel, Off-Axis guider, Adapter M54/M48) you end up at 57mm. This distance ring adds the remaining 2,7mm to reach the focal plane distance.
