Ultimate Battery Case [Parametric]

Ultimate Battery Case [Parametric]

Description

#Ultimate Customizable Battery Case **This is a design based on the work of Walter Hsiao** https://www.thingiverse.com/walter I basically combined his two designs for a battery case with and without magnets and added/improved some stuff: - You can now choose wether you want a lip, magnets, none or both. - I refactored parts of the code and added some new features. - There are now several battery types selectable as presets. - Labels can now be placed on any (or all) of the five sides. - The AutoText function lets you automatically print the contents on the case: type, count and arrangement of the batteries. ##**Workflow** First select the battery type that you want to put in the case. If you don't find your model, measure the diameter and enter it as Custom Diameter. Adjust the tolerance as needed. 0.4 mm should be fine though. Next set up the base geometry: How many rows and columns do you need? Set the wall width. For larger arrangements you should have sturdier walls. With 'Recess Height' you can select how deep the battery goes into the case. Bottom and lid should add up to slightly more than the battery length. Set the Base Height to larger values if the case will get heavy. Now select how the lid will be kept in place. If you want to have a lip, select "Positive" or "Negative" as the lip type as you want. The counterpart should have the other option respectively. More Lip Height should hold the lid in place more securely. A lower Lip Gap gives a tighter fit. Set the lip chamfer to a value you like. Do you want magnets? Set the values of Type, Diameter and Height to fit your needs. Don't want magnets? Select "None" as Type. Now let's finally put some labels on the box. Or not. Whatever you want. Text Mode can be set to some AutoText variations, "Custom" or "None". You can easily add Text Modes in code if nothing fits your needs. Or just enter some custom text manually in the customizer. Select the font and it's size. You might want to add your favorite fonts in the code. Next select the sides that should display your label. Use the xyz-axes for better orientation. Finally set the depth of the text embossing/extrusion and move it vertically and horizontally if needed. Have fun!
