Radial Fan Duct, Part Cooling, Dual 40 mm, for E3D V6
Description
Remix of roadie3rd fan duct. I really liked their concept but wanted to make some improvements. Note that I did not redesign the mounting piece that takes the place of the stock e3d heat break 30 mm fan duct. You can download their original (this has compatible bolt hole spacing), or print the included wings to glue onto the stock molded duct. I opted for the latter because I like the stock, injection-molded heat break duct. Notable changes: • Fans positioned more normal to nozzle array than original to improve airflow and decrease pressure drop before air enters the nozzle array • Nozzle array diameter increased to decrease pressure drop through the array • Radiused transitions from fan duct to nozzle array to improve flow/decrease pressure losses. • Exponential hole spacing to account for pressure drop through the duct. Hole spacing is largest nearest to the fans where static pressure is highest and spacing is closest farthest from the fans where static pressure is lowest. This is done in an attempt to have a more uniform flow through each nozzle. No math involved, just a best guess on what "looked right"
