MA-03074 / 001303074 Lamborghini LP400, Miura, Islero, Espada Fuel Tank Filter

Description

The in-tank "Salva" brand fuel filter of a number of classic Lamborghinis (and possibly Ferraris) is utterly NLA, or in the hundreds of dollars. The sensible thing to do when refurbishing a fuel tank is probably to use a modern push-on filter sock, BUT this was created for those who want to to explore using an OEM-like substitute. Presented here is an un-tested (also never 3d printed) version based on an actual pulled part, and information referenced here: http://www.miuraworkshop.com/GTTav7FuelTank.html http://www.miuraworkshop.com/tav29.html http://www.huskyclub.com/tav29.html This untested design is meant to be printed in Nylon, or some other fuel resistant plastic. It's a 3 piece design with both ends snapping into a main body that needs it's plastic *windows* removed with an xacto in order to expose an expected #100 stainless steel wire fuel mesh of an expected thickness of around 0.22mm sized as an about 70mm x 42-46mm sheet to roll up and put inside the filter body (held in by the snap-in ends). The inner DIA of the available are for the SS mesh is about 12mm, so 37.7mm circumference - hence a little extra for overlap. I*think* I've left enough room and created support for one layer (and a short overlap) of the mesh in the tubes/snap-in ends clearance, but that is untested. (I have no 3D printer to test this). Remember, this is an untested/unprinted thing. Try at your own experimentation risk. Please leave some feedback if you try it, and find the model needs improvement.
