Chu Che Hun - Traditional African Board Game

Description

This is a board and pieces for Chu Che Hun, a traditional African board game that I learned while living in Sierra Leone from the Limba tribe in an extremely remote village. This game is likely played by many different ethnic groups with different names, but Chu Che Hun is the name I learned for it. FOR EDUCATORS OF ALL KINDS: I am happy to 3D print these for your classrooms/other learning environments and ship them to you, completely free of charge, as well as appear remotely and potentially in-person to teach how to play the game. Two players, Player 1 and Player 2, start with their 3 pieces arranged in a row on the side of the board marked by their designation. 2. Determine which player goes first. Traditionally, this is the younger player, but other methods can be used, such as rolling dice. One traditional method is for each player to drop a piece at the middle of the board from a set height (with both pieces remaining where they dropped until a winner is determined), and whoever's piece is furthest from the center goes first. 3. Each turn, the turn player may move exactly 1 piece along exactly 1 segment to an adjacent vertex (or crossroads, or hole, whatever you would like to call it). No more than one piece may be moved in a turn, and a piece must move along a line segment from one vertex to the adjacent one. For example, a piece cannot move from A2 to B1, as seen on the version B file. 4. The game ends when one player wins by arranging their pieces such that the opponent cannot make a legal move. --- **Files** Chu Che Hun Traditional African Board Game Version A - Basic board with unmarked top surface. Chu Che Hun Traditional African Board Game Version B - Same board, but with rows and columns marked with letters and numbers for quantifying the game. Chu Che Hun Traditional African Board Game Version C - Same as B, but includes very basic rules on the bottom of the game board.
