Theseus Hotend - Ender 3 Series
Description
Recommended to view this project on PrusaPrinters for a more clean lay out >> https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/58571-theseus-hotend-shroud-ender-3-series This Is Still A Work In Progress Project - Expect Changes - Please Don't Hesitate To Comment On Any Issues Or Suggestions You Have ! Latest Version - 1.0 Why Choose The Theseus Hotend The Theseus hot-end shroud is designed to be a direct swap for the original ender 3 series fan shroud. It requires no additional hardware other than the printed parts. It is designed with minimalism and weight in mind and unlocks the doors to printing faster without the limitations of ghosting and many other artefacts. With the total print time under 4 hours and weighing in at only 20g - ⅓ the weight of the original shroud - it is a no brainer. Features Of The Theseus No additional hardware ! Improved part cooling over stock ender 3 Improved hot-end heat break cooling Support for bltouch - using mount linked down in the description Significantly lighter than the original shroud 2 piece design with easy assembly in mind What Do I Need To Print ? You will need to print the latest version of the “Theseus Shroud” and the accompanying “Cooling Duct”. There are 2 versions of the cooling duct. One that requires 2x M2x12mm bolts and one that uses the ones that come with the ender 3. They both preform the same but the extra hardware version is more strongly attached to the shroud. Assembling The Theseus Completely disassemble the original hotend ( keeping all the screws ) Mount the “Theseus Shroud” to the carriage using either the original screws or if using the BLTouch mount use 2 of the screws from the hot end cooling fan Then place the hotend cooling fan into it's place, you will need to bend to wires so they contour with the gap in the side of the fan Proceed to place the part cooling fan into it's place. Only screwing in the top 2 screws Insert the part cooling duct and screw the last 2 screws in (Optional) Using a sharpie or similar, colour in the Theseus text Information About Supports Only the shroud should need supports. Print in the orientation depicted and if not using the presliced gcode you will need to add custom support blockers, again see images for where to place them ( highlighted red). I recommend that you use PrusaSlicers paint on supports for this as I did. BLTouch Support Here is the mount I am using >> https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000581338529.html?src=google&albch=shopping&acnt=494-037-6276&isdl=y&slnk=&plac=&mtctp=&albbt=Google_7_shopping&aff_platform=google&aff_short_key=UneMJZVf&&albagn=888888&isSmbAutoCall=false&needSmbHouyi=false&albcp=1622677378&albag=57224001810&trgt=743612850714&crea=en4000581338529&netw=u&device=c&albpg=743612850714&albpd=en4000581338529&gclid=Cj0KCQiAhP2BBhDdARIsAJEzXlEB-R2mcTcfDLJk2kVlBJDcLTkgMaBVNBcjrb83C-YwZ_MOPT-sWHQaAp7HEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds You may find you already have it however if you bought a similar kit to this >> https://www.banggood.com/Creality-3D-Upgraded-Version-BL-Touch-Heated-Bed-Auto-Bed-Leveling-Sensor-Kit-For-Creality-V1-Mainboard-Including-Ender-3-or-Ender-3s-or-Ender-3-Pro-or-CR-10-3D-Printer-p-1435882.html?utm_source=googleshopping&utm_medium=cpc_organic&gmcCountry=GB&utm_content=minha&utm_campaign=minha-gb-en-pc¤cy=GBP&cur_warehouse=UK&createTmp=1&utm_source=googleshopping&utm_medium=cpc_bgs&utm_content=sxxx&utm_campaign=ssc-gb-all-enw-0624-20lp&ad_id=444236244939&gclid=Cj0KCQiAhP2BBhDdARIsAJEzXlGEjJKU87Pq0geRsra5ffPtFXO6pG0HQdruuj33QknF4QH9UnQhG5YaAlNxEALw_wcB Update Channel: Version 1.0 - Date: 04/03/21 - Version 1.0 of the Theseus Shroud goes live
