Light Clamp for Extrusion

Light Clamp for Extrusion

Description

I wanted to put some light on the printer. I picked up a HyperTough 12" LED Under Cbinet Light - Linkable from Walmart for just under $11. Perfect fit for the cross member of my AM8. However, attaching it to the side made the light come out towards you and wasn't effective (and was annoying). So I used double stick tape to mount the side of the light to the side of the extrusion, letting the lamp point down as intended (mounting it to the underside of the extrusion would interfere with the Z space for large prints). However, the double stick tape didn't seem to want to stay put so I built these little brackets just to hold the thing in place (still has tape, too). It doesn't hold very tight but keeps the strain off the tape strips (you could use command strips, too, I think). An M5x8 and a roll in nut holds each bracket. You need two brackets (see the picture). If you cut on the far side of the switch, you can wire it into your power supply input so the light turns on with the printer unless you turn it off. Or, hook it all up to a power strip and use that switch. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hyper-Tough-12-LED-Under-Cabinet-Light-Linkable/465517393
