Spouting Whale Push Toy
Description
This is a mechanical toy of a whale whose spout goes up and down as it rolls merrily along. Two sizes of the model are included, a full size and a half size model. The full size model is about 5" long and 4" high. The front wheels have an axle hole that is slightly off of center. This allows the whale to rock back and forth slightly as it rolls along. Insert the axle through the cam while it is in the middle of the whale and then install the wheels, being careful that the cam is centered in the pocket. The cam is the piece with a hole way off center. It goes on the front axle in the space underneath the whale. It's purpose is to make the spout go up and down. You should glue it to the axle. The back wheels are the smallest and can be glued to their axle. The spout is the piece with the round ball on top. Depending on your printer you may want to use supports. Parts are small, especially on the 1/2 size model. The larger size is usually good for a toddler past the chewing on everything stage. The smaller model is just right to have on your desk to push across with your finger, watching it wobble back and forth and the spout going up and down. It will bring a smile to your face. You may have to adjust the size of the axles depending on the resolution of your printer. Model was adapted from Cherry Tree Toys design and book How to make Animated Toys
