Description
Improved version of the Gamma printed in place RC car. Print instructions: -Orient the print so that the gear is closest to the bed. Look at the picture of the model on the slicer for reference. -Supports: No -Raft: optional -Layer height: 0.2mm -Have good bridging settings While not necessary, I do recommend gluing a 2mm diameter metal shaft inside the rear axle to reinforce it, especially if you plan on running the car on asphalt. 4 chassis available: rear motor chassis, 98mm wheelbase: GammaRear98mm.stl rear motor chassis, 80mm wheelbase: GammaRear80mm.stl mid motor chassis, 98mm wheelbase: Gamma98mm.stl mid motor chassis, 80mm wheelbase: Gamma80mm.stl Improvements over the previous version: 1) Simpler motor mount system 2) Direct drive. One less gear causing friction. 3) More space for electronics 4) Steering and front wheels are easier to print You will need a fa-130 size motor and a 0.5 module 8 tooth pinion gear. https://youtu.be/-rQZyL4o8Pg ---ELECTRONICS--- These are the electronics that i use. -Flysky GT3B Transmitter and Receiver OR -Fkysky GT3C Transmitter and Receiver -20A brushed ESC or 30A brushed ESC -3.7g servo -WLToys F949 500mah 1s lipo battery or similar You might need to change the plug depending depending on the ESC you bought. Typically they use a JST plug. If you want more power, go for any 2s lipo with 300mah or less (more mah might be a bit too large for the chassis). -a charger compatible with your battery -130 size motor There are many cheap ones available. You can do a quick search on amazon/ebay/etc. to find the one that you like. I like Tamiya motors. They are reliable. I recommend one called Torque Tuned. You can find it by searching "TAMIYA 15484" If you search for "TAM75028" instead, you will get one that's a little slower, but comes with the pinion that you will need for this build. If you look on amazon, you can find a kit called (copy and paste this): - EUDAX 6 set Rectangular Mini Electric 1.5-3V 24000RPM DC Motor with 84 Pcs Plastic Gears,Electronic wire, 2 x AA Battery Holder ,Boat Rocker Switch,Shaft Propeller for DIY Science Projects - This kit includes 6 motors, the pinion that you will need (8 tooth), and a bunch of other useful goodies that you can use for other projects. ---TIRES--- Kyosho Mini Z tires OR Tamiya Mini 4wd Small Diamater tires. You can find Tamiya tires in both rubber and a very grippy foam called "Reston". I personally like the foam ones a lot. You can find them by searching "Tamiya 15388" You could also 3d print some with tpe or tpu. Diameter of the rim is 22mm.
