Tape Hanger
Description
The underside of desks, tables, shelves, and drawers is empty space, and tape tends to take up a lot of room. Why not combine the two? Turn the bottom of anything into storage for your assorted tapes, with this print! This print is scaleable and works with every kind of tape I've tested it on. Masking tape, electrical tape, foil tape, you name it, it fits. It grabs the tape weakly enough to be long lasting, but strongly enough to ensure that fickle mistress named gravity never wins! At the stock size, it has two countersunk holes which perfectly accept a #6 self-tapping screw. Although I could find similar prints, none were reliable enough and had enough clearance when scaled. This print solves those problems, and I've already made a dozen more. INSTRUCTIONS: --------------------- >Print on one of the openings, so it forms a 'C' shape on your print bed. This aligns the layers to be as strong as possible, and keeps the print functional longer. >The Drill Guide piece will guide you where to drill, if you want the edge of the tape holder exactly 86mm from the edge of the desk/shelf/drawer/roof/&c. The extended edge along one side aligns with previously drilled holes, allowing the most amount of usable tape holders to fit side by side, as they need a slight gap to expand when fitting the tape. >if you want the Tape holders at a different size, scale the drill guide at the same % so no errors occur with misaligned hole spacing. >To lengthen or shorten the separation between tape holder and the desk, extend/retract the object between the raised lip and the hole. Edits: 24/03/21: Added the DrillGuide STL and more information.
