Fish Ladder Keyboard (Matias Switches)

Fish Ladder Keyboard (Matias Switches)

Description

UPDATE: See a newer version of this keyboard here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4828205 This is an another attempt to build a perfect keyboard. It is a remix of this keyboard: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4146704 The columns are raised to a more comfortable height. From some perspective it is a variation of this Dactyl-Manuform board I use for quite long time: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4220567 The biggest difference is the key axis orientation: instead of tenting the keyboard the keys are pointing straight upwards. This way I fix my biggest (and may be the only) issue with the extremely tented/tilted DMs: the mismatch between the switch movement direction and the direction in which the fingers move. Fingers are moving almost vertically while the switches are tilted, especially those under the index and the middle fingers; there is a lateral force that hurts my knuckles. With this new design the keys are getting down without pushed fingers sideways. The initial tests look promising, but a longer test is needed, hence it is still a WIP. Fusion project is here: https://a360.co/3ssxTM3 Switches - Matias Silent Linear (ALPS-style) with lighter (12gf) springs installed instead of the original 35gf.
