Garmin GPS Mount
Description
After Getting Into A Car Accident Over The Summer I Had No Need For My Gps Until I Got A New Car A Few Weeks Ago. Unfortunately, I Lost The Mount For It That I Used To Have. A Trip To Best Buy Later Though, And I Had A New Mount. It Was The Magicmount By Scosche, Which Worked By Having You Stick A Metal Plate Onto The Back Of Your Gps, And That Metal Plate Stuck To A Magnet On The Mount. This Worked Great. . . Until The Second Time I Tried To Use It And The Magnet Pulled The Metal Plate Right Off Of My Gps. After Several Futile Attempts To Get It To Stick Back Onto My Gps I Decided To Go Another Route And Just Make My Own. This Piece Is For A Pretty Specific Problem, But In Order To Expand The Possible Range Of Uses, I'M Uploading Two Versions. The First Is Designed To Simply Fit Onto A Gps And Has A Blank Back So Someone Can Modify It To Attach To Whatever They Want. The Other One Is Specifically Designed To Attach The Gps To The Clip On A Magic Mount The Magnet Would Normally Fit Onto. I Have A Garmin Nuvi 2597Lmt That I Used For The Dimensions. I Don'T Know Whether This Kind Of Mount Would Work On Other Units Or Not, But You'Re Obviously Welcome To Try. I'M Also Going To Upload A .Stp File For It Too In Order To Make It As Easy As Possible To Modify. If You Have Any Questions Or Suggestions, Please Let Me Know.
