Bondtech DDX Double 5015 blower cooler
Description
This is a front-wrapping cooler for the Bondtech DDX. My Ender 3 has a modded X-gantry with a tall carriage plate. So the stock cooler provided by Bondtech doesn't fit because it sweeps under the carriage plate (or would, if mine wasn't so tall). I designed this one which sweeps over 180 degrees around the front. Need some long M4 bolts 3 of them. One needs to have a nut on the other end. Need some M3 screws, Both need a washer, preferably pan-head screws. One mounts on the corner of the fan on front of the DDX, and one mounts to the left side of your carriage plate which is hidden behind the blower. It uses Bondtech's own 5015 support bracket which has a free STL available on their website. I added an M3 heat-set insert into mine. there's a little groove to push a wire into for cable managing the wire from one of the fans. You should wire a pair of 24v fans in parallel, or a couple of 12v fans in serial for the Ender 3. (I don't know how well these fans work in serial though). I'm using two noisy Winsinn 24V blowers here. I also print with a .05mm inset in Cura Print settings: The walls here aren't thicker than 1.2mm in most places, and good bridging is a must. I added support structures to help with some of the harder spots to bridge. 2-3 layers thick, 3 layers top/bottom with a .4mm nozzle. Mine's in plain ol' PLA. .2mm layers, the usual. I like 5 layer brims with 0.8mm gap between brim and model. Supports only touching buildplate. 30% infill of whatever you want.
