Espresso Cup Pedestal and Extraction Mirror for Breville Bambino Plus

Espresso Cup Pedestal and Extraction Mirror for Breville Bambino Plus

Description

I solved two problems with this design: 1. I wanted to be able to see the extraction on the bottomless portafilter without bending over. I was inspired by the polished lip on the DE1. 2. I needed to keep the espresso cup in one place as the Bambino vibrates during extraction and the espresso cup tends to move around. The pedestal also raises the cup up a bit so the splash factor is reduced. The pedestal has screw-in drain ports that positively located the pedestal directly underneath the portafilter. Print two of them with the threads facing down. There is a sacrificial pad built in that works better than a brim and will break easily out with pliers or by simply pushing on the disc. You can use an 8mm hex key to help turn them into place, but you can also just do so by hand. The small mirror from Amazon fits into the slot in the back. It's a snug fit but you can also secure it in place with food-grade silicone.
