Ceiling Mount Thing

Ceiling Mount Thing

Description

I wanted to hang my camera from the ceiling so I designed this thing. Don't use it for climbing or lifting exceedingly heavy and valuable things. If you do: **I DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR RISKY/DANGEROUS USE** Cheap 4mm diameter PP rope works well with this. **Useful knots for loops here:** ★ sliding loop -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_overhand_noose ★ friction loop -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolling_hitch ★ fixed loop -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowline ★ fixed loop -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Figure-eight_loop (overkill - big) **Useful knots for end to end rope connections:** ★ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fisherman%27s_knot (single or double) *Interlocking overhand knots:* ★ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeppelin_bend (especially easy to untie after heavy load) ★ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunter%27s_bend ★ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_loop (especially easy to untie after heavy load) ugly but very useful -- strongly related to zeppelin knot and hunter knot *Interlocking bight knots:* ★ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheet_bend (small and compact - not capsizing) ★ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrick_bend (especially easy to untie after heavy load - fat) Overkill knots: ★ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Figure-eight_knot **Avoid the most widely known knots. These unfortunately are the worst ones.** ★ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offset_overhand_bend (weak and unopenable - ropedamage) ★ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reef_knot (capsizes and slips open - only for packing & shoes) ★ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Granny_knot (don't even tie your shoes this way) ★ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thief_knot (just listed for completeness - not tied by accident) **Extra:** ★ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constrictor_knot -- related to reef knot ★ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clove_hitch (barely a knot) -- related to granny knot
