Z Axis Stepper Fan Bracket

Z Axis Stepper Fan Bracket

Description

A remix of the Nema 17 cooler by Ente246. My rig has a z-axis stepper motor bracket and damper that interferes with cooling and as a result the motor gets very hot. I tried https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3041691 but the mount doesn't expose enough of the motor surface to have any effect. Therefore I decided to modify Ente246's design by removing the mounting holes used to attach to the top of the stepper motor, and replacing with holes spaced for t-nuts that can be mounted on the Ender 3 4040 Extrusion. Update (05/02/2021): The original bracket was much too deep and took longer than needed to print, also the tail piece was too long and actually snapped off when I was trying to remove the supports. I used meshmixer to make some plane cuts to reduce the depth and then used Tinkercad to make some final changes. I also uploaded to Netfabb to fix any mesh issues and ensure the design was watertight. The pictures are of the new version and it is installed and keeping my z-axis stepper motor much cooler. One picture is of the front of the first version of the fan bracket (after the mounting tab broke) just to give an idea of what the front looks like. The front is the same on the new version.
