Chimera Mount Lowered for Ender 5

Chimera Mount Lowered for Ender 5

Description

tkmeki's mount works really well, holds the dual hotend nicely, and makes it possible to print some wonderful things. The only thing I noticed was that when printing flex filament, the bottom carriage wheel would scrape against the first layer and mess up the print. Doesn't happen with PLA or PETG, it works great for those. But TPU is super finicky. I've modified the design to lower the hotend 13mm relative to the carriage plate. The change only affects the part that interfaces with the plate - all other hardware should fit exactly the same. In particular, my part cooling fan mount https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4764857 does not require any modifications for the new hotend bracket. I recommend nylon for both parts, but PETG is also acceptable. Other than solving the scraping from the wheel, this design also has both carriage screws outside the enclosure, meaning the entire hotend+bracket+fans can be assembled and then mounted, vs. having to mount the bracket first and then install the hotend etc. VERY IMPORTANT: After installing this bracket, you must raise the Z limit screw in the back of the printer! Don't do like me and get pulled away from the task by someone in the other room, then come back and blissfully attempt to print. Even nylon will break, and the Z axis motor is strong enough to do that. Then you'll have to go back to your other printer and have it knock out a new hotend bracket. Oh the swear words I yelled. Anyway, the bolt has to come almost all the way up; depending on your print surface, you may have to get a longer bolt.
