Magnetic Ender 5 (Pro) Electronics Box Replacement Lid with 120mm fans
Description
This is a modification of the replacement lid to mount via small magnets instead of screws. The magnets used are 8mm x 3mm and are glued into place. There is about 0.2mm of tolerance in both directions so any printer should be able to have a snug fit. Included are only the two remixed parts. I only modified the "flush bolts" files. The other files, such as the fan grills, will need to be downloaded from the original page. The two lids still require M3's to bolt them together. M3x12's work perfectly. You'll need 3 of them, though in mine the middle piece broke off so I only use two and it works just fine. The mount is pretty secure, yet comes off with a little force. I've given my printer a little shake to see if it can fall off and so far it's been rock solid. I've also added angled "grips" near the corners (2nd pic) to give some leverage when pulling the cover off. I purchased my magnets from Home Depot, but I can't find the product link, so searching your favorite store for 8mm x 3mm magnets should do just fine. I don't recommend trying smaller ones as the hold might be too weak. Here's one example from Amazon that should work: https://amazon.com/dp/B075TJNQQH This is a great mod to go along with rear-mounted power supplies and I give a huge thanks to the original creator. Throw them a tip if either my or his creation helps you too :)
