Anycubic Mega S Simple Hotend Shroud
Description
<s>This part is untested as of yet. Should not be an issue because I've only removed the fan-mount-support and the main support structure is intact.</s> <s>I removed the heatsink fan support structure for those that have a fan mount attached to their heatsink.</s> <s>Based on the excellent work of The3Designer https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3605183</s> <s>UPDATE: Added a simplified version that consists only of the left side of the shroud.</s> UPDATE May 14, 2021 This model is based on the excellent work of The3Designer https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3605183 with some changes. Support for the heatsink cooling fan has been removed for those of us who have a hotend with the fan directly attached to it. I also always found it cumbersome to add the tall spacers/washers when screwing in the part cooling fan so now they're built-in to the model itself. I also added 2 low spacers to keep this shroud equidistance from the fan itself. All the parts of the hotend become extremely accessable with this shroud. Let me know in the comments if this works/doesn't work for you! Also please post a make. <u>Files Explained</u> -**part_cooler_with_spacers.stl** <u>LATEST VERSION</u> This model is the one with the left wall only, holding the part cooling fan. It has the spacers for the fan built in. This is an updated version of the earlier *final_hotend_housing_V4-part_cooling_fan_only.stl* but there are no other changes so if you don't mind the separate stock tall spacers that the hotend uses, you don't need to print this file. -**final_hotend_housing_V4-part_cooling_fan_only.stl** This model is the same as the above except the spacers are not built in. -**final_hotend_housing_V2-no_hotend_fan.stl** This model is the full box type mount. No spacers. **Notes** Depending on your print accuracy, you may need to take some sandpaper and sand down the low spacers a tad (6 or so passes). -Print it laying down. No supports are needed though one of the holes (the one attaching to the back of the hotend) prints slightly cleaner with tree supports. -I'm mounting this (latest version) with 1xM3 5mm, 1xM3 8mm, and 1xM3 nut. Your milage may vary. -Print time is roughly 45 minutes at 50mm/s.
