CNC Mill Vacuum Add-On (20 mm diameter hose)
Description
WIP I designed this vacuum adapter for my newly bought CNC Mill as i couldn't find any adapters that would fit a smaller hose. It was designed with a 20mm diameter hose in mind, as that was the kind of hose i had lying around. (they are commonly used as protection for on dishwasher hoses, so you should be able to get them easily, maybe even for free) The idea is to screw two 5mm rods into the motors M4 sockets and fix the adapter to it with two small grub or flat-head screws. I will create a STL for those bolts as well, but I made mine from some Aluminium round-material I had lying around. Additional steps after printing: - Drilling the holes in the adapter to 1.5mm - Cutting a M2 thread into the newly drilled holes (or just screw the screws in with enough pressure) - putting a rubber ring (2-2.5mm thickness) onto the hose-mount I will update the files to include the bolts that can be screwed into the motor - optionally you can just use two long M5 grub screws. CHANGELOG: V1 - 16mm shaft hole - will fit with the stock engraver most DYI kits come with - sadly it can create a nasty high-pitched sound when too much suction is applied to the hose V2 (current version) - 20 mm hole - updated the shape to get rid of the sound - made it a bit more stable with thicker walls, so you don't need to be as careful while removing the supports - added a rubber seal that will help to hold the hose in place and seal the connection V3 (up next) - will add the STL for the rods - early drafts for a DYI vacuum to connect to the hose
