Removable Car Seat Base
Description
The "attach point" files are designed to clamp around a 2" (50mm) wooden dowel rod and support a removable car seat for use as furniture when out of the car. They are stable enough that the car seat can be fully reclined and slid forward and backwards. Since they clamp onto a wooden dowel rod, they should adjust to fit most removable automotive seats. They have a steel rod on top for the seat to hook onto. Models for 2 sizes are provided for 3/8" (9.5mm) and 1/2" (12.5mm) diameter 2.25" (55mm) long pins. My seat used the diameter of the floor locks to key the left seat to the left side of the car so one corner was different. The models have custom infill to save filament and allow the top to be printed with 6-8 perimeters for maximum strength around the steel pin. Hardware is 16x 3" long 1/4-20 carriage bolts, washers, and nylock nuts. Ordinary hex head bolts would work just as well, as would M6x75mm bolts, washers, and nuts. The tail spacer clamps onto the back of the wooden dowel rods to provide support while the seat reclines. Non-reclining seats may be able to use shorter wooden rods and skip the tail spacers.
