U42 Mitsubishi Minicab / Bravo Double Din Stereo Spacer
Description
Spacer / adapter to allow clean installation of a double din size car stereo in the non-standard radio surround of a U42 Mitsubishi Minicab (91-98, truck or van). My '96 has a double din stereo installed using the original metal brackets, centered in the opening. This spacer perfectly fills the gap between the stereo face plate and the radio surround. Secures to the back of the radio surround using existing screw holes. Because the screws are located in the bottom half of the opening I felt the top might be able to flex a bit and get pushed in, so made a second version that also includes tabs on which to place double sided tape to better support the upper half. I used 3M automotive double sided tape, but any tape that's ~1.25mm thick should work; it's not under any stress.
