Black & Decker weed eater line winder GH3000 spools
Description
I could not find a Black and Decker trimmer line winder that would fit the B & D GH3000 spools that I buy at Lowe's. I have a large spool of line that I have been winding by hand onto these spools and it is cumbersome and often unspooled when I was trying to wind by hand. This winder holds the spool securely without having to use any extra nuts to tighten the bolt. The printed washer is held firmly in place by the drill chuck making it convenient to quickly spool the line then remove the spool from the winder. I used a 1/4-20 x 2" hex bolt. I chose to use a bolt instead of printing something to go into the chuck as I wanted the strength that the bolt would provide and not have to worry about over-tightening the chuck and breaking any plastic. The head is recessed into the base so that it will not spin freely when winding the line or if there is resistance on the line. I printed it using supports for the hex head recessed area but you most likely don't need supports if your printer bridges well. I just tend to use supports more often than not and they were not hard to remove. This is my first creative project that I have designed 100%, printed and shared. I hope this can help you get your yard work done more quickly so you can get back to fun things like creative printing. :D
