VivoFit Replacemet Strap Buckle

VivoFit Replacemet Strap Buckle

Description

A replacement buckle for the VivoFit strap. Mine degraded overtime so I made an attempt to reverse engineer it. I have done a test print in PLA and it seemed to work well. ̶I̶d̶e̶a̶l̶l̶y̶, ̶I̶ ̶w̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶ ̶p̶r̶i̶n̶t̶e̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶a̶ ̶f̶l̶e̶x̶i̶b̶l̶e̶ ̶f̶i̶l̶a̶m̶e̶n̶t̶ ̶s̶u̶c̶h̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶T̶P̶U̶,̶ ̶b̶u̶t̶ ̶u̶n̶f̶o̶r̶t̶u̶n̶a̶t̶e̶l̶y̶ ̶I̶ ̶h̶a̶v̶e̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶g̶o̶t̶ ̶a̶n̶y̶,̶ ̶s̶o̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶t̶e̶s̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶.̶ It would be great to see any makes, or hear from you about any changes that you think would benefit the design! -Sam UPDATES: TPU - I have just printed the part in TPU and I got good results! I kept it in the same orientation and support structure (which, surprisingly came off relatively easily) as I used for PLA shown in the picture above. PLA - After about an hour or so of wearing the PLA printed buckle it started to rub uncomfortably on my wrist. To overcome this issue I made a couple of quick passes with a flame over the print. Just enough to soften and smooth out the surface. After this, I was able to wear the watch perfectly fine all day without any issues at all. If you also plan on doing this, please be mindful that fire can be dangerous. So make sure you have an appropriate setup before you start.
