Viennese Wickerwork (scale model)

Viennese Wickerwork (scale model)

Description

Viennese wickerwork for scale model furniture. Love Thonet chairs etc. but feel models for sale are too expensive? OK, make your own! These wickerwork models may give your model the finishing touch. There are a few caveats, though ... If you throw everything together in your 3D model software of choice and export the result then what comes off your print bed might not be what you wanted it to be, because slicers have their own peculiar logic and tend to tell the printer to print shapes rather that lines (which is what you want to have the true-to-life wickerwork appearance). Here's how it is done: - Use the step files to adapt the model to your needs - save all directions as individual stl (i.e. diagonal A & B, horizontal and vertical) - load these modes individually (but into the same model!) into your slicer - check in the preview that the printing instructions are as you want them to be, i.e. the printer is told to print first one set of lines, then the next, then the next - right on top of each other IN THE FIRST LAYER - export the finised stl to your printer and enjoy. The models are scaled to 1:12, however in my experience they print best at 150% (at least on my Ender 3v2). That's slightly off-scale, but the results warrant it. When scaling to 150% in your slicer please remind yourself to keep Z at 100% - you want everything (except maybe the frame) just ONE LAYER HIGH.
