Pi Zero Lego Prototyping Breadboard

Pi Zero Lego Prototyping Breadboard

Description

Whenever I start a project the prototyping phase is a mess of spaghetti. This makes it difficult when moving the project between my computer desk inside the house and workbench where the soldering iron is in the garage. I decided to solve this problem for my next project by making a custom prototype board and build it as clean as possible. Here is a video: https://youtu.be/-BF6zZbBVFA And an extended version that goes into more detail and has behind the scenes: https://youtu.be/GUiLuG1Drjg Here is a list of all the parts: Potentiometer https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RGKFMJG?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=cb42-20&linkId=3873afe3da3d9d4d22d4133ef325c17d&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl 2.1mm jack https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RGKFMJG?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=cb42-20&linkId=3873afe3da3d9d4d22d4133ef325c17d&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl But I like these 2.1mm jacks better https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RGKFMJG?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=cb42-20&linkId=3873afe3da3d9d4d22d4133ef325c17d&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl Power Supply https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0852HL336?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=cb42-20&linkId=5493d1a4c7954d9a05b37399a92c90e4&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl Breadboard https://www.amazon.com/DEYUE-Solderless-Prototype-Breadboard-Points/dp/B07NVWR495?ac_md=1-1-YnJlYWRib2FyZCBsYXJnZQ%3D%3D-ac_d_rm&cv_ct_cx=breadboard&dchild=1&keywords=breadboard&pd_rd_i=B07NVWR495&pd_rd_r=eabf8ecb-fc93-49e5-9320-15ecfd086918&pd_rd_w=vrqy4&pd_rd_wg=izkY4&pf_rd_p=1493ce18-a74b-4311-9662-82d8e55e9a65&pf_rd_r=XBTER26WS062WE6DME5C&psc=1&qid=1622150319&sr=1-2-12d4272d-8adb-4121-8624-135149aa9081&linkCode=sl1&tag=cb42-20&linkId=39d046d7bae7e340df8e7bd60f57e43b&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl Raspberry Pi Zero W https://www.sparkfun.com/products/15470 Assembled T-Cobbler https://www.adafruit.com/product/2028 Pololu 5v 2.5a Step-Down Voltage Regulator https://www.pololu.com/product/2850 Solid Core 22 AWG Wire https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11367 Sandisk Micro SD Card https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RGKFMJG?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=cb42-20&linkId=3873afe3da3d9d4d22d4133ef325c17d&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl Cabinet Door Bumpers https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RGKFMJG?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=cb42-20&linkId=3873afe3da3d9d4d22d4133ef325c17d&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl Rocket Switch (I used an old switch but this one appears to have the same specs) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RGKFMJG?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=cb42-20&linkId=3873afe3da3d9d4d22d4133ef325c17d&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl (3) M2.5 x 6mm Phillips rounded head screw (this is as close as I can find) https://www.mcmaster.com/90380A338/ (12) M2.5 x 4mm Phillips rounded head screw (this is as close as I can find) https://www.mcmaster.com/90380a337/ (4) M2.5 x .45mm Heat-set plastic inserts https://www.mcmaster.com/94180A321/ (4) Button head Hex M2.5 x .45mm 5mm long 18-8 stainless screw https://www.mcmaster.com/92095A457/ Seal Heat Shrink Butt Connectors (2) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ILSEF76?ie=UTF8&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=cb42-20&linkId=665ad7b1767e48d805f07dc32eef9d38&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl I laser cut the main board but have included a 3D printed version as well. If you laser cut it you will need a sheet of 1ft x 2ft piece of 1/4" poplar plywood. These could be merged to be one big print but I like to print things in pieces sometimes to account for modularity and print failure. I also printed the Lego parts with a .25mm print head while I printed the rest with a .4mm print head.
