300mm-diameter spool support with bearings
Description
What is it? This is a support for 300mm-diameter, 101 width filament spool. Suitable for 0.5..2.3kg standard spools. Only two ball bearings needed for assembly. Other parts are already included in this design. Two Ball bearings No 608 are used (22mm outer, 8mm inner diameter, 7mm width). Cone nuts are fixing the spool on the axis exactly coaxial. Nuts fitting 38..55mm inner spool diameter. Axle and nuts have M30 thread size (metric, 30mm). The spool, axle with bearings and nuts assembly may be take off from the stand almost freely. Nut inner diameter is larger than bearings outer diameter which allows to change the reel on the axle without dismantling of the bearings. For what? 300mm-diameter spool with filament doesn't fit on standard hook of Anycubic Mega X printer. So I had to design this table-top support. Also I had problems with excessive spool friction when it was on simple plastic stand. That is why I designed this support with ball bearings. Why 608 bearings? Just because I found them in a drawler of my side table. Printing: I used ABS material. 0.3mm nozzle to print threaded parts and 0.8mm nozzle to print the stand. Due to ABS shrinkage, I used 100.55% scale in a slicer. Also the stand needs support between the legs. The gap between central part of the stand and the surface is required because of ABS plastic shrinkage deformation. My first unsuccessful stand version was unable to lay flat on the table because of corner bending. With the gaps it stands steady. I had to disable linear advance while printing threaded axle lying horizontal by Bowden extruder.
