Falcon 9 - Block 5 High Detail (Designed for SLA)
Description
I wanted a high detailed resin version of the Falcon 9 to make for myself and some work friends. Unfortunately, the only versions I could find to buy were from an individual in Europe with the following store: https://www.buzzspacemodels.com/ I could not really stomach the price of these (over 570 Euros for a single 1/72 Scale Block 5) So I decided to buy all the resin 3d printer materials myself, and endeavor to combine/make the best Falcon 9 Model I could! I mostly drew the shape of the Falcon 9 from AstroNot's version (linked below) but I also took some of the best elements from various other Falcon 9s (linked below) and mashed them together to form this rocket. Unfortunately, I had to use Microsoft's 3D Builder to do most of the work, as there was no reasonable way to convert the STL files back to a workable version to add detail too. Overall Shape from AstroNot's Version: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4357356 Booster Raceways from JRad's Version: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4101254 Merlin 1Ds / Engine Bay area from twuelfing's Version: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2168163 Some of the added detail I was able to include: Engine bay doors Numerous (what I am assuming) COPV connections points Common Dome ribbing/support on the booster section Common Dome ribbing/support on the Second Stage Booster LOX and RP-1 tank Doors/Hatches Interstage Doors/Hatches Interstage Pusher Details Raceway Hatches/antenna? Hatches on the Fairing Correct number of latches on fairings updated fairing vet sizes All of these are estimations from various pictures I could find online of the Falcon 9. The model is scaled to be 1/100 in the base STL files. I have also included the Chitubox project files with supports already added! While I have not included any pictures post print, These parts do print properly on my Elegoo Mars 2 Pro with water washable resin. Once I fully finish painting the rocket, I will post pictures under the made section.
