Low Friction 608 Bearing, with working cage
Description
Started to explore a roller bearing for integrating into a single-print-in-place fidget spinner (see https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4876658). After looking at a few 608 bearings from Thingiverse (see below for references) decided to explore my own design with a working cage. These are concept explorations for 608 roller bearings with an integrated working cage to keep the rollers spaced and realize a proper rolling function with low friction. The roller guides provide reasonable lateral stiffness. Posted designs: 1) Asymmetric cage with a guide groove in the rollers (print with cage down). 2) Asymmetric cage with guides on the outside of the rollers (print with cage down). 3) Center cage with rollers (print with cage supports down) 4) Symmetric design with diabolo shaped rollers and a central cage Some geometry detail: Minimal clearance on the rollers is 0.20 mm, which easily released with a light push. Slope of overhangs is 55 or 60 degrees.
