Parametric Rugged Box Top v2 Works Great Using PLA
Description
IMPORTANT: print the lid standing, having one of the short sides touching the bed, and use support everywhere. This is a remix of "Parametric Rugged Box". The original had some minor design flaws, making it break too easily if printed using PLA. This version works great with PLA, strong and durable, no issues at all. Corrections make to the lid: 1. Cut out a bit more space for the hings so that it doesn't break when you snap the bottom and the lid together the first time. it was way too tight before! 2. Shrunk the locking mechanism a bit by decreasing the width of the rounded part that causes it to lock in place. before this was way too wide, of course causing it to just break and snap right off due to all the tension when having to bend that much. 3. Finally, this is not a change to the stl file, but rather an instruction on how to print it. do not print the lid laying down flat on it's back even though that might seem convenient. Because doing so, the lock will be printed having horizontal layers, which is the main reason to why so many reports this print to be useless and waist if printed using PLA. Instead, please print the lid standing upraised having one of either short side touching the bed, this way the lock will be printed having vertical layers, which is the trick to make this durable as hell. of course when printed like this you'll need to use support everywhere.
