Multi Function Dry Box
Description
This is a Dry Box to go with the Universal Auto Retractor by Vincent Groenhuis. There are slot in parts to help the system stack together, so that rather than mounting to a wall you can stack the units. A wall mount option and a version with no meter MAY be forthcoming. I designed the box, but not the retraction unit, you can find the original here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3338467 The only item designed by them that I have modified is the axle which I shrunk very slightly. There are also a couple of extra nuts and some different springs there, I have included the stiff flat (which I use) and the modular (the most recent) here for ease of download. There are also assembly instructions for the retractor there. All credit for the design of the retraction system has to go to Vincent Groenhuis (https://www.thingiverse.com/vincentgroenhuis/designs) Note, if you had the some of the spring issues I have had with the retractor, I have a compact buffer that can cover the same role (Of if you read this too quickly (Today is 2nd July 2021), will have in the next few days, I am just printing and testing the final design), just take the spring off the spool (you may want to remove the centre of the spring as a spacer - when I get time, I will create one). I had some issues with the auto retractor, so designed a buffer (see my designs), but I found that the spool over wound when moving fast, so have added in an option to have a sit on spool holder (it uses the bearings and rods from the MMU2 spool holders). For those that have a Mk2, there is an upgrade insert. The Mk 2 also has the option to insert feathers to help contain the filament if needed. To upgrade the Mk 1 lid you just need to cut out the front section where it slots in to the container, there is also an option for the feather holder you can glue in to upgrade.
