Minimal Guitar Knob
Description
After taking the knobs off my Fender Squier Affinity PJ, I realised they were pretty heavy. Given that my bass is heavy enough as is, I decided to just print some small simple lightweight ones. My intent was to make them as small as possible to practically cover the potentiometer. These press fit onto the potentiometer shaft. Mine will touch the pickguard if pushed all the way down. Printing: Print with 'top' face downwards, no support needed. I get good enough quality for my purposes with 0.28mm layers, 0.4mm extruder. I used 1 layer wall thickness such that it would be easier to deform over a potentiometer spline, also doesn't need much strength. I find with my printer the press-fit diameter was coming out 0.2mm smaller than the model hence the internal diameter I've modelled. I was aiming for Ø5.95mm, so modelled as Ø6.15. (I found that ~Ø6.2mm diameter final part was too large.) Could probably put a slight profile on the bore such that it'll press fit without needing to be so closely matching diameter.
