Shadow Number dish clock

Shadow Number dish clock

Description

I was inspired by a clock that I saw in a good friend's house where the numbers "popped out" forming very interesting shadows when light shown to the side of it. The clock movement is standard AA powered quartz and can easily be bought from aliexpress, amazon, etc. The metal threaded shaft should be at least 8mm. It was attached to the back using double sided tape and tightening the front nut that came with it. The hands needed to be bent in a gentle "S-shape" to clear the numbers like in the 4th picture. You can of course use shorter hands but I needed to be able to to see the clock at a distance without spectacles so I used the biggest hands I had. Printing: Be sure to use at least 20% infill. I tried 5% infill and there wasn't enough support as seen in the 5th picture. It was suppose to be round but you can see that it was drooping. I discovered this after 4 hours of printing :-( If you would like a bigger clock face, just scale it up accordingly. If your printer is not big enough to print it at a go, "chop" it up into quarters, print each quarter and glue the 4 pieces together.
