rain protection & top cover for 85x85mm IP65 box housing SDS011
Description
Part of my overhaul of the luftdaten.info - outdoor sensor. I moved the dust particle sensor Nova SDS011 from it's former 'airRohr' housing (a huge, ugly PVC tube) to a standard 85x85 IP65 . Tight fit but works. Now, sitting on the window board with a 10° inclination just the most vulnerable side of that housing, the back where the cables go in and the air vent sits, is slightly pointing up. I may be somewhat over protective here but I made a hat that holds on the top of that box and adds an additional roof for the cable port. Printing it wd benefit from support at the first quarter of the rounding and as its not small a brim might have helped. I used neither and it shows but it will do what it's made for. FreeCAD source for this is included and it's parametric so you can change the height or the radius of the shield in the spreadsheet and it will reformat. Increasing the height would turn this into a complete coat for the box if you want that. Added the two other things I made for that case: an air vent to let the air out which the sensor sucks in, and a tiny mount for the D1-mini to shield the contacts on the underside from short circuiting against the metallic sensor top. The latter is a bit tight but still does what its supposed to do.
