Hadrian's Wall, Milecastle
Description
Milecastle from Hadrian's wall, based on MC48 (Poltross Burn) at 1/200 scale. This particular milecastle has a symmetrical North and South gate plan, so one variant has a tower over both gates, the other only has a north tower. Also unknown is is the towers had a roof, so again one variant has roofs and the other does not. If the towers do not have a roof the floor will have to be flagged and have lead flashing to keep out the rain.Choose which ones best fit your idea of a milecastle. Internal buildings: There is an oven intended for the NW corner (as found in the excavation) with a lean-to roof. There are also different styles of internal barack block, based on how the roofs could been built. Print out your preferred style of barack block twice, as two are needed
