Resin UV Curing box for CNC cut
Description
Designed to 10mm ply wood which I got free from packing wood off a crate. The decagonal part with most holes is the top, outside holes are for UV LED tape wiring. The hollow decagon must be glued and screwed to contain the legs at the other end but with 10mm extended past. The last decagon has a small oversize designed in to permit it to be the base and for the hood to drop neatly over, the base is to hold your print for curing. Commercial units seem to have timers between 30S and 3 minutes. I just bought a few meters of budget UV tape around the same wavelength that the resin cures at. There are 10mm holes through the main octagons to hold some sort of rotating shaft if required but because i designed in 10 sides, I don't see rotation as necessary given enough LED tape. If smoke comes out you've either got a baby vampire inside or you need a lot more curing time on your resin layers! Update: This has been working a treat! If I peek in the 10mm hole at the top of the hood I can see an intense UV glow over the inside when on. I used these LEDS: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002604395373.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.64d04c4d9saVpH You will need about 5m and 3 amps if you want a strip on each wall and some on the top. I used a 3m LED tape with 2 short strips on top and staggered up/down 2/3 length ones up each wall. Don't use too thick a wire because they will get harder to solder. So good in the winter to be able to do a quick night time cure on my latest creations!
