VW Golf Mk 7 Qi Charge dock iphone 12
Description
This is a Qi charger dock for the center storage area on my Mk vii GTI. I think this may be specific for Left hand drive models, but am not sure. There is one available online for about $90 that can be wired into the wiring in the dash, but I own a 3d printer, so why not just make my own. I recently picked up a Carlinkit for wireless carplay and wanted to add at least some Qi charging functionality for when I am on my normal hour commute. I printed this in PLA but will likely print again in petg for a more durable print. I've had a PLA print in my car for about 6 months without any problem but common sense says that PLA is not ideal for car interiors. The Qi charging space was modeled around a cheapish Pleson dock I had laying around, slightly deconstructed for size. The actual phone area is a little wider than my iphone 12 so may accomodate various The slant is slightly off but was close enough that I didn't feel like continuing to mess with it.
