Ford Expedition phone mount
Description
Created as a phone-dock for my Samsung Galaxy S8 Active, put would probably fit a lot of different phones. My phone is about 6" tall, 3"wide, and a half-inch deep for reference. To remove your OEM coin-insert you just need to pull on it, slipping a credit card around the edge may help if it is stubborn. Once removed, you just unsnap the center part (obvious) and insert the "Coin_Insert" in its place. When I printed the final copy (PETG) the insert lifted from the bed slightly, so instead of reprinting it I printed the "Coin_Insert_Shim" to make it more secure... that won't be necessary if you have good bed-adhesion. The phone mount requires the arms to be inserted, I tapered them so that they slide in pretty easily, but they should require some force. The USB cable I used is: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PFHB3R4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It slid in securely, and was long enough to reach the OEM USB ports. Then the phone mount just slides onto the coin insert piece. And your phone should slide down over the USB-C end... if you have some other type of phone you'll (of course) need to buy the appropriate 90-degree cable. After a few months of use, I think the phone rocking (slightly) side to side was causing issues with my original USB cable, so I ordered a new cable and printed the "Arm_Shim" pieces to remove the wiggle. They're reversible, so you can use one or two, and if using two you can have one skinny and one fat... depending on your needs.
