Whetstone Bridge

Whetstone Bridge

Description

First iteration of a 3D printable whetstone bridge, for manual knife sharpening over the sink. There are similar designs, where this one differs most is the use of metal channel rather than threaded or linear rods. I went with aluminum channel, mostly because it was available, but also shouldn't need to deal with rust. Provided you have long enough channel sections, this should fit any sink. The stone clamps are 75mm wide, with a 10mm lip, should work with most common stone sizes. Materials list: * 4 @ 1/4-20 x 1.5" Hex bolt * 4 @ 1/4-20 Hex nut * 2 @ 5/8" wide x 1/2" Channel (at least 2" longer than your sink) Print list: * 4 Knobs * 4 end caps (optional) * 2 copies of each of the sink/stone base/top The bolt holes through these parts have a tapered point, if you align these with your positive Z direction (up) in your slicer, you should not need supports in these sections (They are quite annoying to remove otherwise). The 'legs' of the clamp-sets will still need support however. I opted to print these with 5 perimeters with about 20% infill. Could possibly do with slightly less. Will have to see how it holds up to abuse.
