Air Inlet Flap - 1" (for Adelina enclosure)

Air Inlet Flap - 1" (for Adelina enclosure)

Description

This is an air inlet flap for the Smart Exhaust system on the Makergadgets Adelina enclosure. I ordered an enclosure with the Smart Exhaust pre installed, but there was no way for fresh air to enter the enclosure when the exhaust fan turned on. I designed this flap to fit into a 1 inch hole, which I drilled in the rear of my enclosure. This way when the exhaust kicks in fresh air will be pulled through the hole, opening the flap to allow fresh air to enter. Printing: I printed this with PLA. 200c hotend and 55c bed. Parts needed: 4 - PC case fan screws 1 - M3 x 10mm dowel Installation: Drill a 1" hole on your enclosure where you would like the air inlet to be. One of the parts to print has a tube with 4 mounting holes. Slide the tube into the freshly drilled hole and use the 4 mounting holes on the back of the part to drill some smaller holes for the mounting screws to go through. Attach the flap to the flap holder with an M3 x 10mm dowel. I usually install the dowel first without the flap attached to open up the part a little, as it is quite tight. Makes it easier to install the dowel and flap together. Also that area may require a little cleanup to get the flap moving freely. Then mount the flap assembly to the tube with 4 screws. It is designed to use PC case fan screws, the short fat ones that come with a 140mm pc case fan. Also I suggest installing before you assemble the enclosure, or get a friend to help. It's hard to reach the screws by yourself, luckily I have long arms.
