Aquarium Cooling - 140mm Fan Holder
Description
These brackets make it possible to mount 140mm computer fans to your Aquarium for cooling. The measurements where taken from the Corsair ML140 but should fit any standard 140mm computer fan. I started out with a complete frame for two fans. But this was almost too big for the build plate. So I came up with this design which makes it possible to use one or more fans. **One Fan**: it is enough to print the left and right bracket. **Multiple Fans**: Like **One Fan** but print two connector brackets for each additional fan you want to mount. So the fans are secured top and bottom This is still a **WIP** and I might change the design later on or add new pieces to safely support more than two or three fans. The glass holder was made for 12mm aquarium glass. It also works for narrower glass by using a rubber or plastic spacer. For even wider glass just tell me and I will create a model with a wider gap. Through using smaller spacers or leaving them out entirely you can change the angle of the fans. **Powering the fan(s)**: The fans can be operated with a default 12V DC power supply. Each fan draws around 300mA. So a 1.5A DC supply should be able to power 4 fans at full speed. The middle two pins of a 4 pin connector from such fan is for power. In case of a 3 pin connector it is the middle and either the left or the right pin. You are relatively free how you want to drive them. Solder a small board with connectors aligned in a parallel circuit or quick and dirty way: cut off all connectors, strip the wires and twist them together ... but don't blame me if for some reason your house burns down.
