Lamp holder for wooden beams in my winter garden

Lamp holder for wooden beams in my winter garden

Description

I needed a lamp over the table in my winter garden over the table to play games in the evenings :-) Since I can´t fix a permanent lamp there, I made this clamping mechanism which can fit on a wooden beam with +/-57mm width. (Also some mm less. Not much more) Two lamps can hang on the Arms and create the force to clamp. For even better friction, I glued sanding paper pieces to the holding parts (Anpressbacke). Then it stays on the beam even without weight. I printed everything from PLA ecxept the "Lastarm" and "Zangenteil" parts, they are from PETG for better stability. My first try with "Zangenteil" made from PLA failed due to high temperatures under the glass ceiling. the parts were bend badly... Only the "Anpressbacke" needed some support. Update: Updated some parts after a "lamp fall situation" during taking off the lamps. The old design had the problem that it got unstable when only one arm had load. the "Anpressbacke" parts could start tilting and eventually causing the whole thing to drop... The new "Anpressbacke" parts have a bigger lower surface to prevent tilting. Again, I glued the sanding paper as well to increase the friction. Also improved the "Zangenteil" Mine was broken due to falling down. It should be holding more reliable now and not come loose so fast when only one lamp is removed. However, I recommend to load/unload both arms simultaniously. Another Update: To be safe, I added a spring, made from steel wire. (Not real spring steel but with a good elasticity) It sits in the middle around the axxis and on the arms at screws (M3x16 with lock nut) Pleasse see the attached pictures. With this spring, the clamp always has some force to hold itself. Now, it´s possible to hang something to just one arm. Also a longer Version of the "Achsbolzen" is added, to create space for the spring.
