40x40 laser module air assist nozzle set
Description
An air-assist nozzle for 40x40mm laser modules equipped with a 20mm diameter, 8mm high removable lens and 35mm focal length. This is a set comprising of air assist nozzles with the following outlet diameters and clearance from the focus. This **free** version is unadorned, you will need to label the nozzles yourself. If you would like to reward me for my work then a **1 Euro version** is also [available on my Cults page](https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/tool/40x40-laser-module-air-assist), and has handy size labels embossed on the nozzles. :-) - fine: clear=1.5 out=1.8 - fine3: clear=3 out=1.8 - fine5: clear=5 out=1.8 - mid3: clear=3 out=3 - mid5: clear=5 out=3 - coarse: clear=7 out=4 There is also an engraving nozzle; which has far more clearance and a wide mouth angled to direct the air towards the rear of the machine. These are a push-fit, I swap them depending on the job type. **Due to the narrow opening you MUST check the alignment on lowest test power to make sure the hole is exactly aligned with the beam before operating at full power!** The general advice about Never Leaving Unattended always applies to using high power laser modules, as it does for all dangerous machines. The Inlet tube diameter is 8mm, there is a slight taper inside it. - I use 8mm outer, 6mm inner, food grade silicone tube, it has good capacity, but is still lightweight and very flexible. - I got this from an online brewing supplies shop, cheap, and arrived the next day :-) My prints were made using a semi-flex material; this achieved a secure push-fit onto the lens/focus ring. You may need to work on the fitting ring (sanding, etc) to get a tight and secure fit if using less flexible material. There is a grove for a cable-tie to add pressure to the clamp, but I don't use it in my setup. **To make this effective you must have a decent compressor** Mine is a 45W, 70L/min ACO-318 pond aerator from Hailea, , You should aim for at least that, or bigger if you can afford it. Works well, greatly increases the cutting power of this module, does not obstruct the laser cooling fan, Bonus! a little cleaner nozzle for the same airtube, useful for lens cleaning etc.
