Pottery Golem

Pottery Golem

Description

A pottery golem! [Created with my own pottery models found here.](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4493271) [If you like this model a whole lot and want to thank me, you can buy me a coffee!](https://ko-fi.com/clayrade) [or, if you'd like to take a look at my premium model sets, check out my Gumroad!](https://gumroad.com/clayrade) Sized to fit on a medium size base (1-inch / 25.4mm), not included. Essentially, the original pot that the ritual is performed on -is- the whole of the golem, or the "core", and they use what magical energy is stored within to attract and attach nearby ceramic pots, tankards, jars, etcetera, to use as rudimentary (and adorable) limbs and storage vessels for as long as they need, and can detach them at will. Like an electromagnet, but for ceramic vessels, because magic! They could be useful for carrying around and storing various liquids and dry goods, so it wouldn't be uncommon to find them in an apothecary or spice merchant's store. Some particularly posh spellcasters may have a golem constructed out of a matching tea-service set in order to automate their afternoon cuppa. To create a pottery golem, an appropriately sized vessel must be created as a skilled potter would, but a proportionate amount of finely crushed precious gemstones must be added to the clay before it is thrown, dried, trimmed, bisqued, glazed, and fired. This creates a magical field that can store and shape the magic held within; if the ritual is performed on a standard pot it simply explodes into a shower of shards. The amount of gemstone powder and the size of the core vessel dictates how large of a pot assemblage it is capable of being, ie, 100 gp worth = tiny construct, 300 gp = small construct, 500 gp = medium construct (values are placeholders, I'm no expert DM!). This is in addition to whatever fees the potter charges for this custom work and additional vessels you may want for your new clinky-clanky ceramic child. Or, put that Potter's Tools proficiency to work and do it yourself! Once you have your pot, all you have to do is prepare the runes on the exterior as shown in your golem manual! You didn't forget your golem manual, did you? When the control words are spoken correctly, the runes should light up and then disappear, and a soft glow should begin to glow from within. The anchor rune painted on the bottom of the vessel should remain, and as long as this part of the pot is whole, the golem can maintain itself, albeit in a weakened state depending on how much damage it takes. Those who become attached to their pottery golems often repair them with in a style similar to that of kintsugi, with finely ground precious metals or precious gems mixed with a specially prepared lacquer, in order to preserve their friends and enhance their appearance!
