Filament spool holder assembly with extension for Thingiverse:2456038 - The One - Anet A8 - Universal Spool Holder https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2456038 INTRODUCTION - I printed the original model as the filament spool holder on my ANET A8, and it's worked fine with 1kg rolls. Last year I purchased a bulk 2.5kg roll and I've needed a longer bolt ever since. This is the solution. HOW TO USE THIS MODEL - 1. Using the "Download All Files" button, download the zip archive from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2456038. 2. Unpack the zip file into a directory, keeping the directory structure. 3. Deposit this source file into the top level directory, so that the *.STL files are in a subdirectory called "files". 4. Load this file into OpenSCAD. The Model should display automatically. 5. The DrawTestModel(...) module will show the complete model. To show just the bolt, set the dn parameter to < 0. e.g. DrawTestModel(-1,ext=2). 6. See https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4933564 for a suitable large filament stand. The handle on the original model is not completely centred (or the holes in the base, I can't tell which). But I have centred bearing shim in each end. It just doesn't seem to align in the base. But the key point is that it fits, and it will help align the bolt along the axis. B. The extension is cut from the bolt and added in steps for each "ext" parameter increment. There is an overlapping area along the threaded length which does look pretty ugly in the OpenSCAD previews, however that all disappears once the STL is handed to Slic3r and the nut fits cleanly upon the printed bolt. C. I've uploaded a couple of sample STL file. Please contact me if you can't generate the size you need.
